The KT Wong Foundation hosted a special dinner for Lang Lang in Paris to celebrate and support his recital at Theatre des Champs Élysées on November 17. The world-famous pianist and UN Messenger of Peace has been a friend and collaborator of the foundation for many years.
The most recent collaboration took place at the UN Headquarters in New York on October 24, when the foundation supported the debut concert of Lang Lang’s UN Youth Orchestra at the opening of the newly renovated General Assembly Hall. The orchestra was comprised of 80 musicians under the age of 18 from 20 countries and four continents, many from underprivileged backgrounds. The objective of the newly found orchestra was to bring a new perspective of life and encouragement to all the young musicians in the orchestra. Other projects between Lang Lang and the KT Wong Foundation include the BBC documentary Live or Die in 2012 and Lang Lang Dance Project in Paris in 2013.
The Lang Lang International Music Foundation’s (LLIMF) objective of fostering new talents through the universal language of music also reflects KT Wong Foundation’s mission, so it is with great pleasure that Lady Davies, Chair of the KT Wong Foundation, hosted this special dinner event for Lang Lang and friends.
