The KT Wong Foundation, in association with the China Film Archive (CFA), will screen four operas from the world famous Festival of Opera and Music in Aix-en-Provence (Festival d’Aix) and the Opera national de Paris.
This exclusive event will take place on 6th December 2014 as part of an exciting mini festival of talks and screenings at CFA in Beijing.
The four operas to be screened are: The Nightingale (music by Igor Stravinsky), La Traviata (music by Giuseppe Verdi), Elektra (music by Richard Strauss) and Werther (music by Jules Massenet).
The Festival d’Aix is an annual international music festival, which takes place each summer in Aix-en-Provence, principally in the month of July. Devoted mainly to opera, it also includes concerts of orchestral, chamber, vocal and solo instrumental music.
In 2014, it was voted the Best Opera Festival by the prestigious International Opera Awards. Its programme always includes some of the world’s best singers, musicians and artists.
KT Wong Foundation has been a generous supporter of Festival d’Aix for many years and has worked closely with numerous of the festival’s most celebrated directors and performers.
In 2014, the foundation partnered with the festival to develop an internship programme that gave young talents with the aspiration to work in the arts an opportunity to work along side some of the biggest names in the theatre and opera world.
The KT Wong Foundation is proud to continue its partnership with Festival d’Aix to introduce some of the festival’s top productions to Chinese audiences.
